Wren's Blog: Will You Teach Me?

wrenlong:

She caught the gleam in Dev’s eyes and chuckled. “I would lend it to you, but it isn’t mine to lend out…” She looked down at the book, then back up at Dev. She patted the seat next to her, “But I don’t think Lord Raginhart wouldn’t mind us reading it together?” She shuffled to the side to let him sit.

Brian nodded, “When Mama is happy we are happy.” Diana had gotten up and moved so that Arlington can look at the two of them at the same time. She sat down and smiled widely, “And she’s eating! Mama wants to get stronger.” The Bagon then hesitated and looked at Brian. Brian shook his head and looked down, “Mama is worried that she won’t be able to help Thyme much…She doesn’t want anyone to worry about her not being able to fight.”

Arlington made a mild tsking noise (Strange, since he had no tongue…) {Ah yes, but that will not do, will it? You both seem so young, I do not blame her for not wanting to put either of you at risk in the inevitable battle… Perhaps I could speak to my own little pebble on the matter…} Arl shifted his gaze over to DevLarius and gently prodded his mind. {What say you, my young one? Was she not asking for the wisdom of your veteran experience that very night things turned for the worse? You never did answer her.}

The Earl’s noble’s eyes widened. “Oh, you’re right!” He sighed then, a long and weary sigh, tinged with sadness and remorse. He had calmed down a bit since he had seen that wicked vulture take away the poor bard, and part of him still hated the thought of battle. Hate fighting though he might, he did not wish for any of his dear friends to go into battle unprepared. It would be the same as killing them himself, if he did such a thing. “Milady, I never had the chance to answer you, on that night… If you still desire, I would gladly teach you how to defend yourself in battle.”
